What
does a karaoke singing competition have in common with the EKKA?
EVERYTHING!
Karaoke fans thank the EKKA for the wonderful showcase of Australian talent today— kicking off with the Queensland state finals, followed later in the day by the Nationals of the I Sing 2018 Australia karaoke competition and a spot in the upcoming I-Sing World Championships.
Bringing the city and country together in a true blue celebration of agriculture; the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) is Queensland's largest and most loved annual event, with more than 400,000 people rocking up to check out the ten-day extravaganza.
With more than 21K competition entries featuring giant vegetables to wood-chopping, animals from horses and beef cattle to dogs and cats, award winning wine and food, carnival rides, world class live entertainment and of course— show bags!
The
search began several months ago across the country in a series of local karaoke
venue heats to locate Australia’s best amateur singer; with the regional winners
going head to head in the I-Sing Australia National Finals today at the ECCA.
Today’s
winner will represent Australia at the I-Sing World Championships in France in September
where some 30 singers will compete for the coveted World Champion male and
female champions.
Starting at 10am this morning; the event took place at XXXX Stockmen’s Bar & Grill; a quintessential Australian feel-good pub with a relaxed vibe and bush-pub atmosphere. There’s lots of stockmen, wide brim hats and live country music.
Heading out to the EKKA? Grab a bite to eat morning, noon or night, choosing tasty pub menu favourites like steak & chips. Be sure to wash it down with an ice-cold QLD XXXX beer or a few soft drinks. This spot is popular both during the day and well after the sun goes down featuring non-stop live entertainment!
